  1. The piece SONATINA from "Divertimento #2" has a 4/4 time. There is never a key change or a time change. Although there are some accidentals added to the piece. Most of the piece is made up of scales up and down in repetition. There are plenty of slurs in the beginning and the end.

Rarely any 16th notes are used but there is an even balance between quarter notes and eight notes. Also some half notes are included but there are no whole notes present. There is only one repeat that begins on bar 3 and ends on bar 13. There are also many eighth rests.

There are not many slow dynamic changes only piano and forte are present, so the changes are drastic. In the end you also must slow down.

  2. As i have been playing the beginning and the end have come easier to me then the middle. The scales are not very challenging because of the amount of repetition. I have been having problems with the sixteenth notes that are slurred in a scale. I seem to rush them out of tempo or continuely missing the notes. It is challenging to keep tempo at bar 15-17 and 19-21 because of the eighth rests. The last 4 bars have come to a lot of trouble because of the combination in eighth rests and sixteenth note scales.

  3. The eighth note scales that are in staccato are coming easy to me now. The sixteenth note scales are still very troubling to me. I get the notes mixed up while playing the sixteenth note scales. The last four bars are still very challenging.

  4. The eight note scales with slurs and staccatos are very fluid for me now. I still can't completely perfect the sixteenth note scales. I am still mixing up the notes in the sixteenth note scales. I can't get the timing right between bars 15 - 17 and 19 - 21 still, they are giving me a hard time because of the arrangement of the rests. The dynamics are hard to pay attention to and get right while i am focusing on everything else.
